Opening Settings
Reach Settings two ways: click your avatar in the top-right corner, then Settings in the dropdown, or click Settings in the left sidebar. Both land on /settings, on the Profile tab by default.

The Profile tab is a stack of cards, top to bottom.
1. Trial Qualification (Free plan only)
If your account is on the Free plan, a collapsible Trial Qualification card appears at the top showing:
-
Your current status badge (e.g. Incomplete, Ready, Pending review, Trial already used, Rejected)
-
A profile-completion progress bar
-
A checklist of required fields (first name, last name, phone number, user type, job title, experience level, country, LinkedIn URL or bio, plus academic reference name/email for students)
Click the card header to expand or collapse it. Click Complete Profile to jump down to the Professional Information section. Once the checklist is 100% complete, click Request Free Trial to submit a trial request for admin review (or Resubmit Trial Request if a previous request was rejected).

4. Professional Information
This section adapts based on the "I am a" selection:
-
Industry Professional: asks for Company and Company Type.
-
Freelance / Independent Consultant: asks for Company/Trading Name and Company Type.
-
Student: asks for University, Degree Programme, Expected Graduation Year, and an Academic Reference (professor/supervisor name plus official university email).
Common fields for everyone: Job Title, Experience Level (or Degree Level for students), Country, LinkedIn Profile URL (optional), and a Short Bio (optional, 500 characters max).
Click Edit Profile in the card header to edit (on the Settings page the form is generally shown in edit mode), fill in the fields, then click Save Professional Information. Click Cancel to discard changes.
Student academic verification: if you selected Student, a University Email Verification box appears. Enter your official university email (must end in a recognised academic domain, e.g. .ac.uk, .edu), click Send Code, enter the 6-digit code emailed to that address, and click Verify. Once verified, the box shows a green confirmation with your verified email.

A separate card for locale settings:

| Date Format | Choose DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, or YYYY-MM-DD |
| Time Format | Choose 24 hour or 12 hour |
Change Date Format and/or Time Format, then click Save Preferences (only enabled once you've changed something).

6. Account Management: Deleting Your Account
At the bottom of the Profile tab is Account Management, with a single Delete Account button. This starts a 3-step, non-reversible flow.
Step 1, Review: if you own projects that have collaborators, a warning lists how many, and suggests transferring ownership first. A link to the Privacy Policy's Data Retention section is shown. Click Continue.
Step 2, Identity verification: click Send Verification Code, a 6-digit code is emailed to you. Enter the code and click Verify & Continue. You can resend after a 60 second cooldown.
Step 3, Final confirmation: type the exact phrase delete my account into the confirmation box (a copy icon is provided), then click Delete My Account. This immediately logs you out and permanently deletes your account and data.

This action cannot be undone. There is no recovery path once Step 3 is confirmed.
